Before finalising the arrangement to rent the office, a Barrier Free report was carried out by Tony Howe of the Disability Resource Centre. His report, which includes some photos, can be viewed ADPN Accessibility Report from site visit
On September 6 Mayoral candidates spoke to an audience of 50 people on what they would do for the disability sector of Auckland if they should be elected as Mayor of the Super City. Few were able to grasp the problems that Auckland experiences, but it was an opportunity to educate them in the hope that should any one of them come to power, they will remember some of the information that was shared. There is no doubt, we have to continue working and reminding the governing bodies that funding for disability issues in general, and in Auckland in particular, remains a major problem. (more…)
