The latest umbrella organisation for disability service providers to be launched is NZ Disability Support Network Inc (NZDSN). It has similar aims to ADPN, but works as a national organisation. The newly appointed CEO of NZDSN, Sandie Waddell, will be speaking at our next meeting on Thursday 29th July 2010 about the organisation and its function. We will also hold our AGM at the same meeting.
It is important that a strong bond is established between the two organisations, so we urge you to attend. The disability sector must work together if we are to achieve better conditions for the people we serve.
Come and meet Sandie and members of the ADPN Executive who work to represent our members, aiming for “an inclusive future”

The ADPN is proud to announce the first in a series of workshops which will assist the disability sector towards greater collaboration; to learn to be more resourceful, to form partnerships, to share and use networks to greater effect.
If we are to make every dollar stretch a bit further, we all have to work harder and with greater imagination and creativity to ensure we keep our heads above water.
This will be a constructive event, an opportunity to build relationships; achieve strength and economy; improve services through synergy.
When: Friday 28th May 2010
Details: Collaboration Forum Flyer
This workshop will open opportunities for different organisations to work together more. We all have equipment that is not in full time use, expertise that could be shared, training sessions from which others could benefit, premises that could be better utilized, the list goes on. The problem is that we don’t know who has what, nor how to access it. Who knows what we could be sharing and making better use of? Let’s work towards unnecessary duplication, ensuring greater efficiency. It has to be “win – win” all round.
